About
About InsideKamer
InsideKamer is an independent, bilingual (English and French) knowledge platform about Cameroon: its government, places, history, culture, media and data, with every claim tied to a source.
Mission
Reliable information about Cameroon is scattered across ministries, newsrooms, archives and reference works, in two languages. InsideKamer brings it into one calm place, and shows where each fact comes from.
We aim to answer the questions people actually ask, such as who holds an office, when something happened, or what a figure measures, and to say plainly when we do not know.
Independent, not a government website
InsideKamer is not a government website. It is not operated, funded or endorsed by the Government of Cameroon, and it is not an official source for any public service. Where an official source exists, we link to it.
Nothing on InsideKamer is an application, a filing or an official record. We never submit applications on anyone's behalf.
How we work
- Every factual record links to at least one source document.
- New records start as provisional and are labelled until an editor has checked them.
- We show gaps instead of filling them. See the coverage dashboard for what is missing.
- News is link-only: we show headlines and send readers to the original publisher.
- Anyone can suggest a correction, and corrections are public policy, not an afterthought.
English and French
Both of Cameroon's official languages are first-class. Where a text exists in only one language, we say so rather than silently translating it.
