InsideKamer collects as little as it can. You do not need an account to read anything.

Draft pending legal review. This page is a working draft. It describes our intended practice and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. It may change, and it is not legal advice. Draft of October 2026.

Data minimisation

The public site has no reader accounts or sign-in. Reading, searching and browsing do not require you to give us any personal information.

What we collect

  • Correction suggestions: the text you write, the page concerned, an evidence link and an email address if you choose to give them.
  • A salted, one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit abuse (rate limiting). We do not store the IP address itself with your submission.
  • Questions asked to InsideKamer are logged, without your IP address or any fingerprint of it, so we can find gaps in our knowledge and improve answers. They are deleted after 90 days. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a question.
  • Feedback sent from the feedback page: the topic, your message and an email address if you choose to give one.
  • Standard server logs needed to keep the service running and secure.

AI question logging

When you ask InsideKamer a question, we record the question, the answer given and the sources cited, with no IP address or IP fingerprint attached. Questions are used to prioritise research and to evaluate quality. They are not used to profile individuals or for advertising, and they are deleted automatically after 90 days.

When a question cannot be answered, a shortened, normalised form of it (for example "magic minister") is counted so editors know what to research next. These counts are kept without any link to who asked.

Asking by voice

The microphone button uses your browser's own speech recognition. InsideKamer receives only the text. Some browsers, such as Google Chrome, send the audio to their maker's servers to turn it into text; that processing is covered by your browser's privacy policy, not ours. If you prefer, type your question instead.

Retention

Question logs are deleted automatically after 90 days. Retention periods for correction requests, feedback and server logs are still to be defined and will be published here. Until then, we keep this data only as long as needed for the purposes above.

Legal framework

InsideKamer intends to follow Cameroon's Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on personal data protection, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies, for example to readers in the European Union.

How these laws apply to InsideKamer in detail, including the identity of the data controller, your rights of access, correction and deletion, and the contact for exercising them, is being confirmed by legal review and will be stated here.
