Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what people ask most about InsideKamer.

Is InsideKamer a government website?

No. InsideKamer is an independent knowledge platform. It is not operated, funded or endorsed by the Government of Cameroon. Where an official source exists, it links to it.

Where do the answers come from?

Only from InsideKamer's own records, each linked to the document it came from: official lists, national mapping data, World Bank statistics, reference works and approved news publishers. The source registry lists every source.

Can an answer be wrong?

Yes, as with any reference. That is why every answer shows its sources, the review status of its records and when they were last checked. Always check the cited source for legal, medical, financial or official matters.

How current is the information?

Each record shows the date its source was last checked. When a current officeholder's record is more than 30 days old, the answer warns that a reshuffle after that date would not be reflected.

What do "Provisional" and "Editorially reviewed" mean?

Provisional records come from a cited source but have not yet been checked by an editor. Editorially reviewed records have been confirmed by InsideKamer's editors. The editorial policy explains every status.

Do you keep my questions?

Questions are kept for 90 days, without your IP address or any fingerprint of it, to improve answers, then deleted automatically. There are no accounts, no ads and no profiles.

Is asking by voice private?

InsideKamer receives only the text of your question. The speech-to-text is done by your browser; some browsers, such as Chrome, send the audio to their maker to transcribe it. You can always type instead.

Why is a news site I read missing?

InsideKamer shows a publisher's headlines only after checking that its feed can be read and that its rules allow it. Headlines always link to the original article on the publisher's site.

How do I report a mistake?

Use "Report a problem" under any answer, or the corrections page. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, link to a source. An editor reviews every report.

Does it cost anything?

No. InsideKamer is free to read and free to ask.
